Sportresurs is a website dedicated to tracking sports infrastructure projects in Lviv, Ukraine. Its primary goal is to help Lviv residents discover new sports facilities in their city and explore options for improving their health during recreational activities.

Challenge and Solution

Challenge:

In this case, we volunteered to help LCE Sportresurs, an organization in our home city, Lviv, Ukraine, create a sports infrastructure presentation platform.

Solution:

Keenethics assembled an intern team to create a comprehensive map system for the project and ensure that it has a user-friendly interface.

Customer result:

A complete system for reviewing sports infrastructure in Lviv that hosts data on more than 230 units of infrastructure.

Solution 1: Developing a Map Integration Module for the Site

Lviv has a complex layout, combining modern, 19th-century, and even medieval elements. In this light, its official street structure doesn’t always reflect the actual location of the sports infrastructure. To resolve the presented issue, our team has marked every object according to its coordinates rather than streets alone. Besides, we’ve integrated the Google Maps API properly by limiting it to Lviv alone and the Ukrainian language.

Solution 2: Managing an Internship Program

Volunteer projects provide an excellent environment for working with interns: hence, our team at Keenethics has assigned five interns to this project. Under the supervision of our senior developers, designers, and QA specialists, they successfully created a high-quality website for our hometown, which offers a map service and a full-scale content platform that allows LCE Sportresurs to showcase news and share data about various events.

What Does Cooperation With Us Look Like?

Step 1. Communicating with government stakeholders

Gathering information on the key requirements of LCE Sportresurs, presenting our vision of a solution to their challenges (an information service for sports infrastructure), and approving the general vision.

Step 2. Assembling a team of interns

Finding the appropriate candidates and mentors, establishing a team with clear hierarchy, and organizing team communication procedures.

Step 3. Formalizing the requirements

Analyzing the requirements from a technical perspective, choosing the appropriate tech stack for a sport infrastructure website, and setting clear milestones and deadlines for its delivery.

Step 4. Development and testing

Developing the product, gathering feedback from government stakeholders and users, testing the website through automatic and manual frameworks, and optimizing the experience.

Step 5. Maintenance and additional feature integration

Launching the site, providing detailed and user-friendly usage and maintenance instructions aimed at government workers in the sports sector, ensuring the smooth functioning of the project, and adding new features upon stakeholder request.
