Challenge and Solution

Challenge:

The client began working with us to create a transparent framework for order customization that would allow various independent manufacturers cooperating with ADS to configure custom decorum layouts via a user-friendly UI/UX instead of complex and often inaccurate pen-and-paper procedures.

Solution:

Keenethics developers optimized the customer’s website during a refactoring process and also engaged in a thorough research of their customization process in order to fully digitalize and visualize it.

Result:

A fully integrated dynamic online order calculator that enables ADS users (for example, partner manufacturing companies) to create custom layouts and calculate orders for various custom decorum systems, a major decrease in labor requirements for selling custom furniture, better sales due to the reduced complexity of making custom orders, and a significant reduction in database code complexity (from 200 code lines to 35 with the preservation of all key functions).

Given the impossibility of anticipating every detail from the outset of the project, our team used an iterative development methodology. Eventually, we were able to create extensive documentation and, through reverse engineering, understand and replicate the client’s order calculation scheme. This approach resulted in a seamless alignment of the site-wide solutions with the pricing policy of the client’s accounting system.

We developed a specialized API using JSON files to exchange documents with the internal accounting system. This API enables the client to make requests and facilitates data transfer between the ADS site database and the internal accounting system. Moreover, the feature enables the creation of custom PDFs with all key order information.

Our team chose the React-Konva library to handle visualization. This library allowed the creation of dynamic visuals that could scale seamlessly. Using React-Konva, we were able to show the most intricate details of customer orders, including their numerical parameters, in a way that was easy to use and scale.
